A lost heading can send an aircraft off course or a submarine into the dark. Test equipment—a three-axis turntable with a thermal chamber—acts as a relentless examiner, reproducing extreme rotations and temperature swings before deployment. Gyroscopes and accelerometers are sensitive to friction, heat expansion, and shock. The rig spins the unit in three independent axes, mimicking rolls, pitches, and yaws, while the chamber shifts from bitter cold to scorching heat.
